Optimization and Outcomes with Ottobock MPFeet

This course is designed for practitioners interested in learning about the latest microprocessor and powered foot technology for their lower limb patients. The course will review microprocessor feet, including the Empower and Meridium, for the transtibial and transfemoral user. An overview of the features, benefits, alignment, programming and training that users need to optimize outcomes will be covered in this course.
Learning Objectives:
At the conclusion of the course the participants will be able to:
- Differentiate between the features and benefits provided by the Empower and Meridium
- Optimize alignment and adjustment of software for individual patient needs
- Perform patient training and therapy techniques for successful performance of each MPF
- Understand the functions, MyModes, feedback signals, safety modes, and app based programming
Credits:
- 4 (s) ABC CEUs
- NOTE: CPs, CPAs, and CTPs will receive Category I ABC CEUs. All other certifications will receive Category II CEUs.
This course will not qualify you to fit a certain product, i.e. Meridium. In order to receive a username / unlock for each pertaining software, please complete the online training.

Presenter:
Chris Doerger, CP, PT
Chris is a certified prosthetist and physical therapist. She attended the University of Miami where she received her master’s degree in PT. Following a few years of clinical practice, she returned to school at Northwestern University where she completed her certificate in prosthetics. Chris is an ABC certified prosthetist and licensed in the state of Florida. Her areas of interest include biomechanics, gait training, and CAD CAM technology. In addition to her duties at Ottobock, she teaches in the physical therapy program at the University of Central Florida, serves as a track and field classifier for U.S. Paralympics, and volunteers with the ABC Prosthetics Exam Committee.
